Teaching our children mindfulness will help them pay attention to the task at hand. Through an Islamic lens, it involves managing their emotional and spiritual well-being, as demonstrated in the following Hadith:
Here are some simple tips to help your children learn and practice mindfulness in their lives, starting from an early age:
1. Teach them the benefits of keeping good company and spending their time productively. This encourages to make choices in life that are well-intentioned and thoughtful.
2. Instill in them how to be considerate and empathetic towards others by removing harmful and obstructive objects out of the way and to throw litter only in rubbish bins.
3. Correct their mistakes in private and teach them to do the same for others. This teaches them the value of respect, boundaries and empathy.
